Dapple Draft

This is a painting I did a couple of years ago just to sell at an art show. It is still one of my favorite paintings I have done. I like the mood of it. I should have just kept it for myself but I ended up donating it to an auction to raise money for college scholorships. When I saw what it brought at the auction I was sick because I felt like I had just given it away. If you are like me, you always say "Oh well, I'll just paint another one to keep for myself" but that never happens.
24x24" oil on masonite.

  1. This painting is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! Is it painted in glazes? It has a very realistic magic about it that is very seductive...I really like it a lot.

  2. Thanks for the compliments. Coming from a master artist like you that comes as high praise. It was done in oil glazes. I used to do a lot of work in watercolor and gouache so I still like in working in transparent glazes using Liquin as my medium.

  3. I'm not a master artist, but I also think this painting is beautiful. Horses have so much character as individuals and so does this one.
